Everything you need to know about getting vaccinated at WellPharma
Getting Vaccinated
No appointment is necessary! We welcome walk-ins during all pharmacy hours. However, if you prefer to schedule ahead or need multiple vaccines, you can book an appointment online for guaranteed availability and minimal wait time.
Please bring a valid photo ID and your insurance card (if you have insurance). If you have a previous immunization record or know your vaccination history, that's helpful but not required. We can access most vaccination records electronically.
The entire process typically takes 15-20 minutes. This includes a brief health screening, the vaccination itself, and a 15-minute observation period to ensure you don't have any immediate reactions. Most people are in and out quickly.
Specific Vaccines
The best time is September through October before flu season begins. However, getting vaccinated later is still beneficial. We offer flu shots from September through May, as long as the vaccine is available and flu is circulating.
The CDC recommends Shingrix for all adults 50 years and older, even if you've had shingles before or received the older shingles vaccine (Zostavax). It requires two doses, 2-6 months apart, and is over 90% effective at preventing shingles and its complications.
Yes! You can safely receive multiple vaccines during the same visit. For example, many people get their flu shot and COVID-19 booster together. Our pharmacist will discuss the best schedule for your specific vaccine needs.
Insurance & Coverage
Most vaccines are fully covered by insurance with no copay. Medicare Part B covers flu, COVID-19, and pneumonia vaccines at no cost. Medicare Part D covers Shingrix, Tdap, and other vaccines at no cost. We'll verify your coverage before vaccination.
Don't worry! COVID-19 vaccines are free for everyone regardless of insurance status. For other vaccines, we offer competitive self-pay pricing and can help you find assistance programs. Contact us for specific pricing information.
Yes, we accept both Medicare and Medicaid. As of 2025, all CDC-recommended vaccines including flu, COVID-19, pneumonia, Shingrix, and Tdap are covered at no cost under Medicare and Medicaid with no copays or deductibles.
